Make it Something Special.
The Boat.
Our SJ38 provides ample room for guests during day trips, cruises, cocktails and dining yet reserves its bright, open comfortable spaces for guests to experience in all conditions. A forward queen berth, head with separate shower, air conditioning, custom refrigeration, bar area and gally are just a few of the creature comforts provided to make you feel at home while exploring the Hauraki Gulf. Like all other Picnic boats, our SJ38’s handsome good looks are only surpassed by her performance and unmatched quality of construction.

Your Crew.
Skipper. Gary Hill
As a boy I grew up on Hayling Island. My playground for learning were the beaches, and natural harbours of the solent and ironically the place where Windsurfing was invented, a sport that has evolved into WindFoiling, and one that now occupies much of my time.
My father was an artificer in the Navy whose passion for the sea boosted my natural attraction to build and make boats. I trained, worked, and grew a healthy respect for the art of marine design and construction at Salthouse Boatbuilders in Auckland. Opportunities to race sailboats and experience ocean trips were plentiful and the skills associated with them now form the foundation of knowledge I pass onto people through my involvement at the corporate level, education, and sailing coaching opportunities.
Co Skipper and Crew
I have a strong network and access to a talented team of experienced people. We customise our crew depending on the charter package.
These always something special waiting, you just have to let it happen.
